Head and founder of the Silesian Karate Club 'Goliath' is Sensei George Walaszczyk. Karate trains for over 30 years. For over 20 years teaches karate. It is an educator of many titled players including many Polish and Masters World Champion! He has trained well over a dozen players with a master's degree (black belt). George completed his Walaszczyk Czestochowa University of Technology at the Department of Systems, Machinery and Equipment Energy uzuskując Master - engineer. For many years he was a constructor.
For over 20 years worked at the Institute of Physics and Chemistry of Metals in the Department of Physics of Metals, and later at the Institute of Computer Science, University of Silesia in Katowice. Club "Goliath" has existed since 1992. The club trains over 1000 people of all ages (We noted the youngest player at the age of 4 years, the oldest aged 66!). Train with us, both boys and girls.
We are the largest Oyama Karate Club in Upper Silesia and one of the largest in Poland. We have over 40 sections in the largest cities of Upper Silesia. We have sections in all districts of Katowice, Siemianowice, Tychy, in Ruda Slaska, Gliwice, Chorzów, Bytom, Mikołow, Myslowice, Laziska, Gliwice, Orzesze and Świętochłowice. We are licensed in the area of the whole Province of Silesia. We have a group of qualified instructors in this kilkumastu with black bands (among them are doctors, engineers, computer scientists, university academics, graduates of the AWF-u, ...). Since 1998. we also learning the Full-Contact / Thai Boxing Karate for people over 16 - years of life, and Aikido classes.
Our players have had considerable success: Since 1996 we won more than 870 medal position. In 1999 we won the New York World Champion in Full Contact Karate. World Champion in the weight area. 63 kg was Danuta Fyda - the first Polish woman who has achieved so much success. Danuta Fyda In 2001 she won the bronze medal at the Berlin World Cup Kyokushin IFK. In 2001, nine-person team of our club won the Open in Montreal, Canada 1921 International Championship medals in kata, kobudo and kumite, including as many as 13 gold and four silver (often sinking 'fratricidal' fight). In 2004, in Birmingham (Alabama) USA at the prestigious tournament, "Ultimate Challenge" Our players have won the top positions: Bill Walaszczyk-gold, Raphael Wieczorkowski-brown. In April 2007, our athletes have won the prestigious tournament, "Oyama Cup in St. Petersburg Gold (Peter Sunday) and bronze (Matthew Szymczyk).
In April 2008, on I Offen BRANDENBURG OYAMA KARATE MIESTERSCHAFT gained 13 medals including 5 gold!
In May 2009 the European Cup, our players have won 22 medals in the Knockdown, semi-contact, kata and kobudo
Since 1995 we have won the Polish Cup and Polish cups more than 300 medals. In total we now have in the acquis of more than 1,300 medals at various national and international competitions.
For several years, our athletes gain the Polish Champion titles and a few years Club Champion Polish team wins. Our players gained many titles of the Best Sportsman of the Year Oyama Karate (m.innymi: Danuta Fyda, Daria Fyda, Martin Swallow, Agata Walaszczyk, Jacek Walaszczyk), and Sensei George Walaszczyk - many times the title of Best Coach. We are portrayed in all major newspapers, our performances transmits television stations such as TV-3, Polsat, TVN. Also appears in dozens of demonstrations. Head of Training and also President of the Club is Sensei George Walaszczyk.
Every year, from September to November we call for our section. We are sections of karate for seniors. Karate is also a wonderful therapy, which contains many elements of corrective gymnastics and acrobatics, wonderful improving physical fitness and correcting posture.
